Since June 2025, no phone can go on sale in the EU until it has survived 45 one-meter (3 -foot) falls in a tumbling barrel, with no case and no screen protector. Phones are then retested at 90, 180 and 270 drops, and the result becomes a letter grade from A to E printed on the EU energy label.
