Germany produces 24% of the EU's €18.8 trillion economy (about $21.2 trillion). France adds 16% and Italy 12%, so three of the 27 member states produce 52% of the total. Manufacturing is 20% of Germany's economy compared to 11% of France's. German factories alone account for 26% of everything EU industry sells.
Britain left the EU in 2020. On 2025 figures, the UK economy would be bigger than France's and smaller only than Germany's.
