A detailed closet study found that 22% of the clothes hanging in the average adult's wardrobe hasn't been touched in over a year. 75% of those dormant clothes were in good enough shape to wear. Asked whether they would part with them, owners said no to more than half, on the grounds that the clothes might prove useful one day.
