$39,800
A 30-day supply of the new pancreatic cancer pill lists at $39,800, or about $477,000 a year. In the trial behind its approval, it raised median survival to 13.2 months from 6.7 months on chemotherapy. The company expects insurers to negotiate 20% to 30% off the list price.
The FDA cleared it roughly six months ahead of its own deadline. The pill blocks RAS proteins, which drive more than 90% of pancreatic cancers. It is the first medicine to target them broadly in this disease.
